Ex- Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Against 38 Patients

Legal authorities have stated that a former doctor stands accused of carrying out assaults involving 38 victims who were patients.

Details of the Grave Charges

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous acts of sexual assault – comprising some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.

A deputy chief CPS official stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

Scope of the Investigation

The charges come after what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.

The defendant is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

List of Offences

Prosecutors said the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:

Fifteen counts of assault.
17 counts of assault by penetration.
9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.

Authorities have asked anyone with concerns to contact the investigating team.
